A screw press is a forging press in which the movement of the ram is the result of
the relative rotation between a threaded screw and nut.
The threaded shaft of a screw press is typically driven by a large wheel and the rotation of this wheel
drives the ram downwards with great force, so deforming the workpiece. The large wheel is in turn driven
by a perpendicular shaft, with flywheel at each end to store energy between strokes.
